I am so sorry to hear the news of John's passing.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Temes Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. My father Jerry and Johnny were on the GH fire Dept. together for many years. Although we haven't seen Johnny in years, the memories from those days will remain in our hearts forever.

I have nothing but great memories of John and have thought about him and his family quite often over the years. I remember all of the hard work he would do every year helping Elisa out with getting things ready for the family picnics. If he wasn't working around in the house, he was working out in the yard. He ran circles around most of us younger ones back in the day. I also remember how many times he would yell at me for letting the water run while I washed the dishes -"We're on a well....we need to save water!" he would tell me. Now I know he is watching so I'll have to change my ways! He liked to gross me out too by taking a bite out of an onion like it was an apple! I have truly missed him and he will always hold a special place in my heart. For as many tears as this loss has brought to all of us here, there's no doubt that there are many more tears of happiness from all of the people up in heaven that are now with John once again. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, even though I have never met your father, I feel like I know him, becuase of all the wonderful stories you have shared over the years. 

I know you are feeling pain in your heart, but remember he will always be with you, and would want you to feel joy, and not sorrow.

Johnny was Dad's friend.  We have many fond memories of him in years past.  Time has kept us out of touch, but we will always keep his smile and good nature in our hearts.  Our Mother had alzheimer's so we know the sadness you must have had prior to his passing.

Even though we barely know him, we still loved him with all our hearts. Nilo Temes is like an Everlasting Gobstopper: he will never leave our hearts or minds. He lived a very good life. He is a HERO! He was one of Glendale Heights very first police officer AND volunteer fireman. He also served in World War 2. Nilo will ALWAYS be loved by friends and family and will never be forgotten!
