Roger Dally, born January 27th of 1951, to Bert & Roma Dally, passed away on April 6, 2016. Loving husband of Alexandra; Cherished father of 12; Caring grandfather of 5; Brother of 7; Uncle and cousin to many.
All that had the privilege of meeting Roger knew that his bright blue eyes and smile could light up the room. His wit made everyone laugh; his personal charm put all at ease. Roger was a kind hearted, clever, and hard working man who had endless amounts of love to give. He spent the majority of his life caring for his twelve children with dedication admired by many. His home was a place of love and joviality where no one ever experienced a dull moment. During his free time Roger dedicated himself to literature and writing. He wrote anything from the most creative short stories to motivational and soulful poetry. He was known for his extensive knowledge of world history and politics, and could engage in conversation with anyone on a number of learned topics. He also enjoyed sharing his passion for the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls with just about anyone who would listen. When travelling with Roger you would never get lost due to his internal GPS. Roger’s greatest wish in life was for his children to know he loved them dearly and that he would never leave their side. Roger left an everlasting impression on not just his children, but anyone who had ever met him. Roger, you were never afraid to jump as far as you could regardless of whether or not you knew where you would land. Your ambition to strive for greatness is, and always will be, admirable. If we could pass on just one message from Roger it would be to never fear where you were going in life, and to trust in your ability to succeed. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, April 16, from 1:00-4:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln, Lisle, IL 60532.
