

Russell Eugene Forrer, age 69, of Yorkville, died on Dec. 5 from prostate cancer. Russ was born on May 7, 1947 in Sandwich, IL. Russ grew up in Waterman, IL on a farm and moved to Oswego, IL where he graduated from Oswego High School in 1965. He went to Northern Illinois University and graduated with a math major, an art minor and went on to received his master’s degree in Secondary Professional Education.
Russ was hired in 1971 at East Aurora School District 131 where he taught math at Waldo Jr. High for 17 years then at East Aurora High School for 17 years. He taught math, was math department chairman, and was on the math curriculum until he retired in 2003. Russ went back to work for East Aurora High School as a math consultant and oversaw a 1.5 million dollar government grant.
Russ loved to travel, go to Florida in the winter, go to plays, play poker with his buddies, read and play trivia. His bucket list was to visit and watch a game at every baseball stadium in the United States. He was able to visit the last one, in Denver, CO, in August. Russ loved the Chicago White Sox and especially the Chicago Blackhawks. He also tutored many students in math. Russ had many friends that he socialized with so Russ will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Rose (Morel) Forrer and his father, Samuel Franklin Forrer. Russ is survived by his wife, Trena; sister, Kay Wynne of Portsmouth, VA; brother, Larry Forrer of Virginia Beach, VA; nephew Alan Wynne of Tempe, AZ; loving cousins and relatives; and lastly, his dog, Kramer.
Russ will be cremated and his wishes were that there would be no service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Kendall County Food Pantry in Yorkville, IL.
