

Thelma was born on November 20, 1945, in Laredo, Texas She grew up surrounded by love and a close-knit family, and those values remained at the core of her life.
Thelma's family will be receiving friends and relatives for a visitation on Friday, December 1st, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Avenue, Lisle, IL 60532. A heartfelt funeral mass to celebrate Thelma's life will take place on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, 10:00 AM at St. Scholastica Parish, 7800 Janes Avenue, Woodridge. Following the mass, Thelma will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery Romeoville, 200 West Romeo Road, Romeoville, IL.
Thelma will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the warmth she brought to every room. Thelma had a passion for helping others, and her enthusiasm for life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her children, Carlos Lopez (Cyndi Lopez, née Brown), Marc Lopez (Martha Reyes), Oscar Lopez (Lucrecia Lopez, née Arriaga), Sandy Lopez (Juan Martinez), and grandchildren, Adriana Murphy (Earnest Murphy), Jesse Lopez, Giovanni Murphy (Daniela Kog), Aidan Lopez, Kayla Murphy, Alexis Lopez, Adrian Lopez, and her great-grandsons, AJ Murphy and Sammy Murphy, who like everyone who knew her, loved her 3 trillion, 1 billion, 17 million times. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Thelma Amira Lopez (“Moona”) leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of those who had the honor of sharing in her life. To everyone who knew her, she is our mom.
