Bill Kurzrock passed away on May 26, 2005. Arrangements under the direction of Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Lisle, IL.Bill was an absolutely wonderful husband, father, friend, brother, and son. His life ended so suddenly. No-one expected him to lose his battle with the complications that had arisen from his bone marrow transplant. Barbara Immoos, his sister, was his bone marrow donor. She loved her brother dearly. Through the bone marrow transplant, Barb, gave Bill the gift of his last harley ride this past year before he passed away.Bill's battle for life began last August when he was diagnosed with AML, leukemia. He was then told he should receive a bone marrow transplant. With only a 2% chance of a match from one of his sisters, miraculously his sister Barb matched perfectly. Everyone thought he would survive for many years as he seemed to be doing quite well, post transplant. But suddenly in April of 2005 he came down with what appeared to be a cold, but would turn out to be the onset of GVHD. He had grade 4 acute and chronic conditions of this disease. It gave him a small percentage at a chance for survival. His condition deteriorated and eventually he lost his life. Bill was hospitalized in Loyola on April 23rd and lost his battle on May 26th. Bill worked hard every day in his bowling alley located in River Grove, Illinois. He was loved by all of his customers, many of which are now friends. At work, the nickname "Billy Bob" was what a lot of his employees called him. And even though he hated the name, it eventually stuck with him as something he knew he was called with a great deal of fondness. Some of Bill's most favorite moments in his bowling center was meeting Brian Voss, Danny Wiseman and Steve Jaros. All are professional bowlers. Bill followed their careers and even drove to tournaments when they were bowling just to cheer for them. Brian has made several stops here including hosting a bowler's clinic for Bill and Ginger. Danny was involved in Bill's fund raiser which was held last October prior to his transplant surgery. And Steve has made a few guest appearances in River Grove, but has also been a long time friend of the family as well.Bill had three women in his life...his wife Ginger, his daughter Courtney, and his full dresser Harley Davidson. Although the love of his life was his wife, and the other his daughter, he was all about that Harley. He rode his bike whenever time permitted. He owned a 1989 Ultra Classic Tour Glide that was completely customized. Bill talked Ginger into getting a Harley and they rode together during the summer. He loved getting his leather vest, chaps, and his favorite riding boots on just to go out cruisin'. He especially loved driving down the country roads west of River Grove out towards Sycamore. Kewaunee was always a nice road trip with the harley.Bill married Ginger on November 17, 2002. The happiness they shared is once in a lifetime. Despite the fact they had faced many personal and professional obstacles, the two stayed strong together. In fact, they were always together and always had smiles on their faces. The couple have known each other since 1997 & became romantically involved in 1999. Bill referred to Ginger as his "300, his 12 strikes", and she said he was her "knight in shining armor"...The two were in separable.Bill adopted Ginger's daughter, Courtney in 2003. She couldn't have been happier to have Bill as her dad. "It isn't very often we get to chose our parents", states daughter Courtney. Courtney loved her dad.In his younger days, Bill was raised with his many cousins from Dixon Illinois. They had loads of fun on the family farm. (Pratt Farms) He often told stories of running through the corn fields, chasing farm animals, and just having a great childhood. On many occasions he shared stories of his favorite cousins, Mike & LindaSue, with his family and friends.Bill was born to Robert and Phyllis Kurzrock. They also had two daughters, Patricia (Kulis) & Barbara (Immoos). Robert was a fireman (Captain) in LaGrange, Illinois. Bill spoke highly of his dad. He believed that his father taught him to be a man, and his mother gave him the gentler side.Bill was a dad to 6 children and a grandfather to many. Bill is survived by his wife Ginger Lynn, his son David Kurzrock (wife Trish) and four grandchildren: Tori, Jake, Dylan & Matt. He also leaves behind his daughter Courtney Jean, his stepsons, Carl Taft and Christopher Taft. In addition he is survived by his mother, Phyllis Kurzrock and sisters Barbara Immoos & Patricia Kulis. Bill's other children, Jenny, Michael, Sara, and Becky. He will be missed by so many people. It would be nearly impossible to name them all."At 53 years old, we should be just learning to live our lives to the fullest." Bill had finally found his true happiness with his wife Ginger and their new life that they lived together. It was ended way too soon.Bill is buried in Sycamore, at his request. The town of Sycamore is where Bill and Ginger started their new lives together, and shared so many memories together.Bill, you will forever live on in the hearts of the family members and friends WHO TRULY LOVED YOU and KNEW YOU for the wonderful man that you were. You have meant so much to those whose lives you touched. You will be missed by so many...and those lives will never be the same.
