Charles Robert King, 73, of Little Rock passed away May 31, 2025. He was born December 20, 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Harry Gordon and Marguerite Theresa (Pierog) King. In addition to his parents, Charles was welcomed into Heaven by his brother, Kenneth King; and dear friend, Kenneth Visscher.
Charles grew up in Michigan and was a proud native of Grand Rapids, where he completed both his high school and college education. His career in modeling began there, working as a clothing model for Sears Department Store. Over the years, he expanded his talents, working with various cruise lines, appearing in commercial instructional videos, and even starring in a national commercial. He was also well-known for his hand modeling work with major restaurant brands and his participation in local theater productions.
Charles had a love for travel and explored the world alongside his husband, John, with Italy being his most cherished destination. He was also an avid collector, with a special interest in mechanical toy robots and watches.
Known for his impeccable fashion sense and refined taste, Charles always took pride in his appearance. While he could be quiet around new acquaintances, those close to him knew him as warm, funny, and thoughtful. His sparkling blue eyes and gentle smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish the memories of Charles include his husband, John Henry Lowe; children, Margaret Rebecca Lowe, Catherine Elizabeth Andersen, and Juliette Christine Lowe; son-in-law, Michael Wallace Andersen; grandchildren, Regan and Devin Andersen; sister, Sherri McMurphy; close friends, Penny Pollock and Rick McCollum; and his friends at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Family and friends will gather thirty minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the QQUMC (1601 S. Louisiana, Little Rock AR 72206).
