Mrs. Christine Evans

Clara Christine Evans, born June 27, 1930, in Des Arc, Arkansas, to the late Emmitt and Kathleen McFarlin, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Christine was married to Charles Evans on May 7, 1948. They had wonderful and very active 66 years together. She loved to golf in her younger years and when Charles retired, she took up deer hunting so that she would not be a “deer widow.” She was an avid gardener, spending many happy years in her backyard and you can tell by her flowers. She loved to cook and can from her vegetable garden. She loved trying out new recipes on her family and would make them their favorite cake for their birthdays from scratch. She is survived by her son, Michael Evans and his children, Christopher and Jennifer all of Cabot; her daughter, Deborah Stewart of Benton and her sons, Scott Stewart and wife Teresa of Bryant; Samuel Stewart and wife Patty; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Kathleen Olivia Stewart of Bryant; a brother Emmitt B. McFarlin , Jr. of Little Rock; and a number of aunts and cousins. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm, Monday, May 19, 2014, at the funeral home. Funeral will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. 501-661-9111.
