Eugene "Zak" Zakrzewski, of Little Rock, born December 29, 1958 was promoted to Glory April 3, 2015, at the age of 56. He was preceded in death by parents Philip and Adeline Zakrzewski. Zak is survived by Robin, his loving wife of 29 years; his 4 children: Veolette Pennington (Michael), Amanda Allen (Jason), Zachary Zakrzewski, and Rebekah Beauford (Zachary); his 4 grandchildren; Taylor and Gabrielle Pennington, Oliver Lucas, and Greyson Daniel Beauford. Zak was a man of many passions: the Lord his Savior, his family and friends and playing golf. His favorite past-times were going on cruises and vacations with loved ones. Christmas time was especially meaningful to Zak; he loved to decorate his home for Christmas in celebration of his Savior, as well as the enjoyment of others. He was dedicated, extremely hard-working, and put 110% of himself into everything he did. He was such a great example of servant-hood to all, and his humility kept him from realizing his own worth and contribution. Zak was a God-fearing man; he was a member of First Assembly NLR, a deacon of Markham St. Baptist Church and a "Key Man" with Promise Keepers. Zak, a self-employed flooring contractor, worked mainly with Arnold's Flooring America. He was an avid Razorback fan, a pitcher for the Men's Senior Baseball League, and served in the U.S. Navy. Later in his life, as a battle-weary soldier, he succumbed to considerable health challenges. It was his heart's desire to take his family on a cruise to Hawaii, but when faced with a choice Hawaii pales in comparison. He is now in heaven, totally healed and pain free, enveloped in the arms of Jesus. Visitation will be Thursday, April 9th, at Markham Street Baptist Church in Little Rock, 12-1pm with the Celebration following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to his memorial page, "In Loving Memory of Zak Zakrzewski" on youcaring.com.
