

Jimmy D. Ginger, USAF Major, retired Air Force veteran died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 8, 2015. He was born in Beebe, Arkansas on January 22, 1934. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances (Jeri) Ginger, daughter Geinah of Little Rock, and son Scott (Marty) of Little Rock. Also survived by his much adored grandchildren Zac and Emily Armstrong of Little Rock, Erik Barentine of Alabama; along with his loyal canine companion, Jack. He was predeceased by his parents Troy and Elsie Ginger, his sister, Barbara Wood, his daughter Karen, and his grandson Jordan. Jim did one-hundred flight missions over North Vietnam. He was a Silver Star recipient as well as many other medals. He also served the state of Arkansas as an administrator for 10 years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his squirrel (Jeri), visiting with online friends, and spoiling his grandkids. He also did volunteer work with the American Red Cross during national disasters as a guru of computer knowledge. He attended Trinity Assembly of God church and had many friends there. He was a member of River Rats - an association of retired fighter pilots, and the CASBAR and Super Saber Society online military communities. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Funeral services will be Wednesday at Noon in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
