
Marshall Edward Palmer, 63, was born to the union of Nathaniel Palmer Sr. and Gladys Mae Ross on August 15, 1953. He was the Maternal grandson of Mae Ida Isby and John Henry Ross; and the Paternal grandson of Iona Sims and Charlie Palmer. He attended Metropolitan High School in 1972. Marshall enlisted in the U.S Army in 1975, where he spent 10 years. He then enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served 15 years. Sgt. Palmer then re-enlisted in the Army where he served until he retired in 2014. During his tenure Marshall received a Master’s degree in Criminal justice from Colorado Tech and numerous other accolades. After his retirement he enlisted in the Buffalo Soldiers where he remained until his death. In July of 1974, Marshall wed Dajuana Williams and from this union came four children; Marcus (LaRonda), Derrick, Shavonne, and Veotis (LaTrice). Preceding him in death are his grandparents, his parents Nathaniel Palmer and Gladys Mae Ross, and his brothers Nathaniel Jr., and Hurtis. Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife loving Debra Palmer, and children; Cobe, Chance (Kendra), and Laura, three brothers; Jimmy Palmer, Donald (Juana) Palmer, and Cedric Palmer, three sisters; Brenda Palmer, Carolyn Palmer, and Beverly Palmer; a son Stacy Palmer; a daughter, Valencia Palmer; Thirty-nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be Friday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock.
