Dr. Nina A. Klebanoff, daughter of Betty Klebanoff and Robert Klebanoff, M.D., passed away on May 2, 2015 at 9:50 in the morning after a long and courageous journey complicated with multiple myeloma. She was an advanced practice nurse who advocated for and practiced holism throughout her career and personal life. She taught us many lessons in the power of acceptance, strength, persistence and grace. She accepted her illness with the graciousness of a wonderful host but kept it at a distance with the persistence and strength of the strong willed woman we all knew and loved. She will be missed. Nina is survived by her wife of 27 years, Dr. Mellis Schmidt, her brother David Klebanoff, M.D., her nieces and nephews Amanda and Lindsay Klebanoff, Noelle and Stephen Schmidt, Catherine and Carson Schmidt Williams, her great nephew and niece Charlie and Ellie Schmidt and her many friends and family of choice.
