Susan Diane Hardman, 72, of Alexander passed away April 4, 2024. She was born October 3, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Charles Edward and Dorothy Elizabeth (McCarty) Pierce. In addition to her parents, Susan was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved grandmother, Mamie “Mimi”McGinty; many aunts and uncles, her fur-babies, Coco and Mia; and Michelle’s father, Larry Michael Hardman.
Despite facing heart complications, Susan displayed an unwavering strength and determination for most of her adult life, fighting valiantly for her health and to remain by the side of her beloved daughter, Michelle Hardman. Her resilience and optimism were unwavering, and she approached life with a sweet, quiet demeanor, and a delightful sense of humor. Always seeing the positive side, Susan's presence illuminated the lives of those around her. Family held a special place in Susan's heart, and she made it a priority to contribute to hosting family reunions, fostering connections and following in her faith as a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Susan grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later attended the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. She joined the Delta Delta Delta sorority where she developed life long friendships. She loved watching sports and was particularly passionate about cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Texas Rangers. Having resided in Forney, Texas for over 20 years, Susan developed a special affection for the town and its community as she volunteered for veterans and sponsored several youth groups. After moving back to Little Rock in 2005, whenever she visited Texas, she never missed an opportunity to indulge in her favorite fast-food restaurant, Whataburger, a tradition that brought her great joy. A lover of music, Susan found solace and happiness in its melodies and she was an avid reader, especially of any genre featuring World War II. She often immersed herself in classic films on TCM, with favorites including "Casablanca" and "Gone with the Wind."
Susan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness and warmth touched the lives of many. Those left to cherish the memories of Susan include her daughter, Michelle Hardman; as well as several beloved cousins, extended family, and friends.
Memorial services celebrating Susan's life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2024 at Griffin-Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home.
