

Allen Chanes, 67, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on February 25th. Beloved husband of Barbara (Mazzola) for 41 years. Devoted father to Jill and her husband Martin Jarocki and cherished grandfather to their children Ethan and Morgan. Also, loving father to Andrew, who preceded him in death. Dear brother of Linda Abel and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Brooklyn N.Y. to Daniel and Rose Chanes and was a long time resident of Succasunna, N.J.
After graduating from Babson College, in Boston, with a B.S. in Business Administration, Allen used his entrepreneurial talents to start several companies specializing in management search and consulting, accounting systems and executive training.
Allen enjoyed boating, motorcycling, target shooting, bicycling, playing his guitar and purchasing. His many friends and family will miss him and wish him Happy Trails.
The family wishes to thank his heart transplant team of Dr. Mark Zucker and his oncologist Dr. Indu Sabnani for their passionate care.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday February 28th, at 10:15 am in the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, with interment in Beth Moses Cemetery, Pinelawn, N.Y.
Following the interment the family will sit Shiva until 8:00 pm at the home of Linda Abel, 789 Hastings Street, Baldwin Harbor, New York 11510.
The family will continue sitting Shiva on Thursday, March 1st from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the home of Barbara Chanes, 7 Norman Lane, Succasunna, New Jersey 07876.
Shiva will continue on Friday, March 2nd from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the home of Jill Chanes & Martin Jarocki, 118 Baltusrol Road, Summit, New Jersey 07901.
