Born in Capriglia, Italy in the province of Avellino, Annibale immigrated to Orange in 1957 to be reunited with his wife, Maria, who came earlier to prepare for his arrival. They lived in East Orange, West Orange, and Union before moving to their final home in East Hanover in 2016.
When he first came to America, Annibale worked in Chatham and Newark at Mt. Vernon Salon as a hairdresser. Eventually he became the owner and operator of Town & Country Hairdressers in Maplewood. His career as a beautician spanned over 30 years until his retirement in 1999.
Anni could be spotted wearing his signature button-down dress shirt with slacks and loafers (no matter what time of year) a cigarette in hand and a witty catchphrase on his lips. You could also find him sitting at the table after Sunday dinner, telling a story from the old country, drinking an espresso and laughing at his own jokes. In the warmer months, he spent lots of time outside in his khaki shorts, guinea tee and sandals whistling an original tune and enjoying home projects, especially gardening and tending to his beloved fig trees. Annibale was also a member of Café Roma in Orange for many years. He loved playing cards, especially Scopa and solitaire, watching sports, and doing word searches.
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Maria (D’Archi) Spiniello; his parents Maria (Melillo) and Salvatore Spiniello; and his brothers Giovanni, Guiseppe, Angelo, Andrea, Guido, Lodivico, and Salvatore Spiniello.
He is survived by his devoted daughters Ivana Ciccone, Elisa Martino and her husband John, and Marisa Marano and her husband John; loving grandchildren Nicholas Ciccone and his wife Ann Marie, Pasquale Ciccone and wife Danielle, Anthony Ciccone, Maria Iovino and her husband Joe, Gianna LaForgia and her husband Jonpaul, Giovanni Martino and his wife Samantha, and Gianni Marano; cherished great grandchildren Gianluca, Vail Marie, Anthony, Santino, and Nico; dear sister Elisa Fischetti; his granddogs, Noocho, Bocce, and Bronx, and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews and good friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 2 to 6 pm at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. in Livingston, NJ.
The funeral will commence at the funeral home on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rose of Lima Church at 10 a.m. and Entombment in Restland Memorial Park, both in East Hanover.
