Anthony Alongi

Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston on Tuesday, December 9 at 9 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Anthony’s Church in Belleville. The Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be on Monday from 3-8 pm.

Born in Newark, Anthony lived in Toms River for many years before returning to Newark 4 years ago. He was an Army veteran who worked in construction for many years.

Anthony was predeceased by his parents Conchetta (nee Livolsi) and Frank Alongi, two children Anthony and Frank Alongi, his sister in law Toni Alongi, and brother in law Frank Palma.

He is survived by his children Julia Alongi Riley and her husband Thomas, Michael A. Alongi and his wife Jessica, and Teresa Courage and her husband Louis; brothers Paul Alongi and Sebastian Alongi and his wife Marianne; a sister Julia Palma; grandchildren Justin, Sam, Miranda, Cecelia, Michael A. Jr., Chelsea, Anthony, and Frank; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to Rosepetals at 825 Bloomfield Ave., Suite 107, Verona, NJ 07044, an organization dedicated to the care of terminally ill children and their families.
