Barbara (Bobbie) Stern, 88, of Short Hills died June 21, 2017. Born in Elizabeth, she was a graduate of Plainfield High School and Upsala College. Mrs. Stern lived in Millburn-Short Hills for more than 50 years and was well known for founding Bobbie's Boys, a retail clothing store in Short Hills that she operated for more than 25 years.
Predeceased by her husband, Abraham, she is survived by her two sons, David and Andy; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie; and three grandchildren, Alexander, Gabrielle, and Matthew.
A graveside service will be held on June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724 (where Mrs. Stern adopted her beloved dog, Tater), or the Millburn-Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 226, Millburn, NJ 07041.
