

Barry Herman, 88, of Livingston, NJ (formally of Short Hills) and Boca Raton, FL died September 8, 2023. He was born on March 11, 1935 to Frieda and Jack Herman. He grew up with his sister, Sharyn (Seifert, now deceased).
A member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun for numerous years and then Chabad of Short Hills. He was on the Jewish Community Housing Corporation board as well as numerous other Jewish organizations.
He enjoyed many hobbies. One of his favorites was fishing in Canada with his best friend Gary Haberman. Barry loved his enormous model train setup, which he especially enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren.
Barry was a family man who helped cement the closeness his family enjoys today. Known to the public as Barry Herman of Barry Herman Entertainment. He was a pioneer in the event entertainment industry, having multiple bands and DJ’s. Serving four generations of families

He leaves behind his wife Cherie (Janoff) and his two beautiful daughters, Stephanie Vogel of Short Hills and Dr. Jaycie Deane of Livingston. Their husbands were his sons, Dr. Howard Vogel and Kenneth Deane. He leaves five extraordinary grandchildren- Graham, Blake, Kiera, Austin, and Landon. His brothers and sisters Allan and Debra Janoff, Ronni and Barry Weinstein. His nieces and nephews Hunter, Max (Cristina), Nicole Janoff, Zachary and Sydney Weinstein, Eric (Jeannie) Verbel and Scott (Melissa) Verbel.
There are no words to say how much he will be missed.
A funeral service for Barry will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, New Jersey 07039. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 1:00 PM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane, Woodbridge, New Jersey.
