We met long time ago, because of our parents. Very beautiful soul, respectful and caring young man.  He will always live in our memories.

Ben was truly a bright light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His infectious spirit and dedication to both his teammates and the sport of fencing left a lasting impression on us all. On and off the strip, Ben exemplified kindness, sportsmanship, and an unparalleled sense of joy that uplifted everyone around him.

Teammates and coaches alike cherished Ben for more than just his talent and commitment; they admired the way he supported others, celebrated their successes, and always found a way to bring a smile to those nearby. 

While words can hardly capture the loss we feel, we will carry Ben’s memory with us, remembering the countless moments of joy he brought to our team.

You were one of my first friends I made in college. I knew as soon as we met that we would be lifelong friends. You were a bright light and spark every time you walked into a room. You had this special mentality where you never said no to a new opportunity and always took the risks and chances that crossed paths with you. For the rest of my life I will always follow that attitude and mentality that you lived by. Getting even closer with you after graduation was one of the best decisions I have ever made. We talked everyday and hung out 2-3 times a week and I will cherish those memories forever. You meant so much to me and my family and I’ll always appreciate you for that. I always looked forward to seeing Ben at competitions and LHS fencing practice. He was a kind and funny soul, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.

Ben was an amazing and sweet person, and I’m grieved to know that he has passed on. I will always look back on our high school memories with fondness, through the highs and the lows he was always a great friend and he always had a great heart. My heart goes out to all that loved him, may his memory live on forever.

Ben gave me sabre lessons in his driveway for free and as an epee fencer I know that takes a lot of patience.   He always brought positive energy to our high school fencing team and crucial wins and I'm so sorry for the family.

I’m not sure the shock and or sadness will ever quite go away. Meeting you week one of college, I never expected to become as close as we did years later. Weekend sleepovers with you and all the boys will forever hold a special spot in my heart. There was never a moment without you making us laugh. While the time could never be enough, I am so blessed to have got to spend so much of it with you. I will continue to show others what true friendship looks like in your honor. I don’t even know what to say right now. You had a special way of bringing joy and laughter to any room you entered. From our countless nights in Columbus during undergrad and the year following graduation, to college trips to Las Vegas and Mexico,  I knew any time spent together would be full of laughs. I will never forget golfing together this past summer, as you topped ball after ball in frustration. However, on one lucky par 3 you managed to score a bogey, which led to you celebrating, running across the green hands in the air, as if you hit a hole in one, leading to the rest of us crying from laughter. You just had that special talent of making any situation memorable. Rest easy brother, I love you❤️

It’s been a few days now and even still I can’t find the right words that do Ben justice. He was my first friend in college and instantly we knew we’d be close friends for the rest of our lives. Ben gave me and everybody else so many laughs and amazing memories, I will never stop looking at pictures or laughing thinking about the times we had. From Columbus to Mexico to Israel to Barcelona and everything in between. Ben was an incredible person who didn’t have a bad bone in his body. I will always carry him with me and know that he is looking out for all of us from above.

Ben was my first friend when I moved to Livingston. He was outgoing and kind and had this positivity to him that made everything better. You couldn’t help but be happier around him. From the first day we met, Ben has always made me feel welcome. Throughout the years I may not have been able to see Ben as much as I used to but I was always grateful to catch up with him. He truly was an amazing and kind soul. My family and I will miss him dearly.

Ben, my heart is absolutely broken right now. I’m praying for your family and friends during these troubling times. You were one of the funniest people I have ever met and I will cherish all of the memories I have with you.

My name is Zack Lieberman and I only was able to know Ben for a short period of time. He was my great-grand big at the Eta Chapter of Aepi. A memory that I have with Ben is that when I got added to the lineage we were suppose to have a lineage dinner. Ben suggested Hyde Park. We then processed to go the same day as a darty and Ben processed to order the $100+ seafood appetizer for the table. I was not expecting it when I walked in, but it was amazing and we would have never even thought to get it without him or even go to such a place. He was a great man who will be deeply missed.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful service with everyone who could not attend. It is evident from the speeches that Ben touched so many many lives and has left such an impact on others. His compassion, sense of humor, and fun-loving spirit will be carried on by so many, no doubt. Our thoughts are with your family.

My deepest condolences to Ben’s friends and family. Though I only had a few conversations with him, they left a lasting impact on me. He had a gift for making others feel welcome, valued, and at ease. I’ll never forget my first national competition with Bergen feeling unsure and out of place during warm-ups, almost choosing to warm up on my own. But Ben noticed, invited me to join, and in that moment, made me feel like I belonged. We ran, we fenced, we laughed, and I will always appreciate him for that. His kindness and spirit will stay with me forever.

Every speech was beautiful, Ben changed many lives for the better. When I imagine him I always remember him in Bergen standing tall with a big smile on his face. Ben has been and will always be family. I will remember him for the rest of my life.

To all of the Levitt family, I send my deepest sympathies and condolences. Losing such rich soul so early is devastating, and I am so sorry for your loss. I will forever cherish the time and memories I was able to have with Ben. I am beyond grateful that I was able to spend my time in Israel on Birthright alongside Ben, that experience will stay with me forever.

I knew Ben since he was very young as my brother and Ben were very close friends as my brother was growing up and so  were our families.  We had countless memories and gatherings together at each other’s houses. He was a very kind and happy go lucky person, he will be truly missed.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. It is has been really hard to see you go, and I wish that I could have seen you and spoken to you one more time. I am so sorry for your devastating loss. Ben was a delightful person--as a teenager and as a young adult. It was a real pleasure to see him when he covered a class at Bergen or dropped in to visit before his move to Columbus. May his memory be a blessing.

To Ben: We remember our little daughter Lara telling us after this random night as pictured: “He is my STAR”.  Many years have passed since then. She is not little anymore. Yet, you remained a STAR - for her and by proxy for all of us, all along. We still keep looking up at the nighttime sky to this day. Lara tells us which STAR represents who is no longer among , but watching over us. All of you are missed. Yet, we are taking solace in knowing that you all still there, now more than ever. We’ll keep watching out for you in the twilight as well. RIP.

My son and Ben were friends since middle school. I saw Ben often through the years, watching him grow into a fine young man. He was talented in fencing and smart academically. Ben was a kind soul who lit up my home when he came over to spend time with Brett. He and Brett had a wonderful relationship. Friendships like theirs are hard to find. We are so very sorry for your loss. Ben will be profoundly missed by our family. It’s hard to imagine our lives without his warm presence. Our sons formed such a close bond with Ben, and the thought of life without him is truly difficult to bear.

I still remember the first time we met Ben on move-in day at OSU when he and his roommate came by to introduce themselves. From that moment on, Carter and Ben quickly became great friends. Since Ben started his job in Columbus last winter, their friendship has only grown stronger.

Things just won’t be the same without him. Ben had a remarkable ability to light up a room with his positive outlook and infectious sense of humor. Whenever he was around, laughter filled the air, and he always knew how to make his friends smile and feel supported.

As a coworker of Ben’s at BBI, the news of him passing struck me deep. Ben and I started at BBI together and went through the ups and downs of it all together. He was always someone I could ask questions to about work and personal life.

Once I had moved on from BBI and moved away from Columbus. The next few times I visited the city Ben always did his best to meet up with me and hang out to catch up. I’ll miss our weekly conversations about new jobs, sports, and much more.

True lifelong friends are hard to come by. Ben was one of my brother’s best friends since middle school. It was amazing to watch him grow up by my brother’s side. My condolences to his family and friends.

When I was on my recruitment trip to Ohio state, stayed with Ben at his dorm for 2 nights. We had the best time ever, he was gracious enough to show me around campus and really made me want to go to Ohio State even more. 

A year later, I would end up living  in the same Dorm room at Park Stradley that he and his roommate Stephen Chou resided in,  and I had some of the best years of my life. 

He had introduced and welcomed me into his friend group, which was a testament to his kindness. Rest well Ben, I will forever be grateful that we crossed paths ❤️
