David Alan Grabell of Bridgewater, New Jersey, formerly of Montville, passed away suddenly on November 6, 2022, at the age of 46.
David enjoyed volunteering, starting at a young age. At Montville Township High School, he was an active member of Key Club where he organized food drives and visited residents in nursing homes. He loved being a Boy Scout, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Boy Scout Jamborees and hiked in Philmont, New Mexico. He was also an active member of the Pine Brook Jewish Center chapter of USY.
David continued his education at his beloved Penn State University where he earned a degree in Computer Science. At Penn State, he was an active member of Circle K, which is the college level of the Kiwanis Club. As lieutenant governor, he organized other Circle K chapters at other universities in Pennsylvania. David loved participating in the annual Penn State Dance Marathon which collects money for children’s cancer charities. As an avid Nittany Lion spectator, he attended many football games and even painted his face blue and white. After graduating, he represented Penn State at many college fairs as a recruiter. His blood truly ran blue and white!
Upon returning to New Jersey, David held various technology positions at Telcordia and CitiBank. Because of his love of learning, David earned a master’s degree at the Stevens Institute of Technology. He continued his career, spending twelve years at JPMorgan Chase and achieving the title of Executive Director. For the last year and a half, he loved being a Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo in New York City.
David was very proud of his two sons Jacob and Fisher and his daughter Logan. He attended all their sports events and enjoyed watching dance recitals. He encouraged his children to join Scouting where he became a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. He motivated his children to partake in activities at Temple Sholom in Bridgewater and to participate in charitable community events.
He is survived by the love of his life Alexis (Gietter) Grabell, his three children, his mother Rosalie (Schrier) Grabell, and his brothers Daniel and Michael (Laura) Grabell. He will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law Ellen Gietter, his sisters-in-law Hedi Gietter and Shanna (Barry) Greenstein, and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joel Grabell and his father-in-law Larry Gietter.
