Elaine Halper was a dear friend, as well as an “Aunt Elaine “ to my children for so many occasions during the years we lived diagonally across the street on Tiffany and Tilden Court. We broke fast together, enjoyed bar mitzvas, weddings. Together with Sam, of blessed memory, our lives reflected the love and respect we had for the Halper’s we loved.. Elaine and Sam’s devotion to all causes related to Temple and Israel were an inspiration to My family. Elaine and Sam’s work for Israel Bonds , Temple , Sisterhood, Federation and Wimen’s League brought many people to recognize the importance of being connected to the Jewish world. Our conversations were always lengthy and lasted long into the night.. We celebrated bar mitzvas ,weddings breakfasts together. These are precious memories. Elaine was an inspiration , a role model and as well as a friend.
