Elinor E. Hayum

Beloved wife of 59 years, caring mother of two loving children Gail Hayum Barry and her husband Kevin Barry, Gary Hayum and his wife Lisa Greenspan Hayum, devoted and proud grandmother to Jordyn Barry, Ian Barry, Max Hayum, Leah Hayum and Ben Hayum, wonderful sister to Susan Katz and her husband Elliott L Katz and and her special nieces Lauren Katz Cevenini and her husband Peter Cevenini and Jennifer Katz Koutsouftikis and her husband John Koutsouftikis and their families and the most caring friend and neighbor.

Ellie, devoted her life to making those around her feel loved and happy. Caring for others was her focus in life. She loved to make soup, bake and provide food to others in need.

Born and raised in the Bronx New York, Elinor graduated from Boston University with a degree in education. She taught second grade prior to raising her family in West Caldwell New Jersey. She later moved to North Caldwell and then to Cedar Grove, spending winters on the west coast of Florida before making Naples, Florida her home in 2010.

She relished her family more than anything and cherished her husband and soul mate Bob for 63 wonderful years. They were always side by side. Bob and Ellie had the opportunity to celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary together with family and friends in June 2016. Her greatest pride and joy were her 5 loving grandchildren whom she kept in constant contact with via FaceTime and shared her many talents, time and vacations with. She cared deeply for her extended family. Near or far, she made a point to share her kindness and show them her love. Elinor was very creative and a prolific knitter, cook, an avid reader and a master crossword puzzle and Words with Friends wiz.

She loved to shop and had multiple closets to prove it. She will be truly missed and always with us in our hearts and in our soul.
