Elwood was born October 11, 1933 in Jersey City, NJ. He grew up in Jersey City and went on to attend Rider College where he earned his degree in accounting as a CPA. He worked for over five decades in his own firm Lerman & Greenberg and eventually merged with Bederson and Company.
He resided and raised his family in Livingston, New Jersey. Woody was the beloved husband of Adrienne. He was the devoted father of: David, Eric, Larry (and Lisa), Robert (and Evelyn) and Jay Blotsky; loving grandfather of: Rachel Lerman (great grandchild Riley) Harry Lerman, Benjamin (and Dianna), Alexandra and Danielle Lerman, Michael and Jacob Lerman, and Chelsy and Jessica Blotsky.

A funeral service for Elwood will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, New Jersey 07039. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 2:30 PM at B'nai Abraham Memorial Park, 2600 Route 22 East, Union, New Jersey 07083.
