Gail Shaw, 86, of West Orange, NJ, passed away February 18 after a long battle with dementia. Gail was a graduate of Brooklyn College and worked as a 5th grade teacher in Brooklyn before marrying her husband Norman in 1958. They were married for 65 years before Norman’s death last October. She was the mother of two daughters Elissa (Hal Mandel) and Laura (Mark Sands) and a loving grandmother Bryan Andrew Caterfino (Allie LeCavalier), Brian Caterfino (Lauren), Isabel Sands, Ethan Sands, Aron Mandel (Caroline Mandel), and Abe Mandel. She was the beloved great grandmother of Sylvia and Ruth Mandel. Gail owned a children’s bookstore, volunteered on a rape hotline for NCJW and worked as a paralegal in her husband’s law firm. She was an avid reader and friend of the Livingston Library.
