

Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston, on Saturday, February 20, at 9 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston at 10 am. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
Mr. Gehringer was born in Newark and lived in Irvington before moving to Livingston in 1959. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the WWII Victory Medal, and 4 Overseas Service Bars.
Mr. Gehringer was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local #52 and #164 in Newark and worked in the construction trade as an electrician for many years earning a 60 year service pin in 2006.
He was the beloved husband of the late Constance Gehringer (nee Volz), loving father of Susan Gehringer of Williamstown, NJ and Richard G. Gehringer and his wife Phyllis of Raleigh, NC, cherished grandfather of Alexandra and Skyler Gehringer, and dear brother of Antoinette Reno and William Gehringer, both of Toms River, and the late Anna Belzel, Elizabeth Fisher, and Marian, Rose, Martin, and John Gehringer.
