He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Queens, NY when he was in high school. Harvey settled in West Orange, NJ in 1970 and remained there the rest of his life. During that time, Harvey ran and was elected as democratic committee man for West Orange.
Harvey met the love of his life, Carol, in high school. They shared 62 wonderful years of marriage together. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his son, Marc, and three granddaughters. He is predeceased by his son, David.
Harvey's career was primarily in the shoe industry, where he made significant contributions. He served as the vice president of the Meldisco Shoe Company for many years in Mahwah, NJ, before becoming the president of the Pimento Shoe Company.
He was known for living a very active lifestyle. He loved playing tennis and was an avid skier. He enjoyed the thrill and challenges of the slopes.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, located at 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, New Jersey, 07039. The family will receive guests on January 18, 2026, from 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm.
