Jacob Osofsky

Jack Osofsky, 83, of Upper Montclair died on March 25, 2014. He passed away after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Osofsky of 54 years. He was born in Newark; he lived in East Orange before moving to Upper Montclair in 1969Jack was a warm and true friend to all who knew him. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BS Degree and Seton Hall Graduate School of Business with a MBA Degree. He also attended Montclair University for an additional Master’s Degree. Jack was a Captain in the US Army Reserve. He was the President of Fidelity Business Equipment in Hackensack. His devotion to his faith and family was an inspiration. His philosophy was to overcome obstacles and achieve the most you can with determination. This had a great influence on his children. He was a member of B’nia Shalom of West Orange and the United Way. He is survived by his daughter Estelle Osofsky McGonigle and her husband Raymond of NY City, his son Dr Jeffrey Osofsky and his wife Melissa of Monmouth, NJ grandchildren Zachary Osofsky McGonigle, Jordan, Camryn and Sydney Osofsky. He was predeceased by his sisters Ruth Traeger in 1991 and Pearl Spiegel in 2007. Funeral services will be held Thursday 12pm at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills rd., Livingston, NJ 07039. Entombment will follow at Beth Israel Mausoleum in Woodbridge
