A beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, friend, & overall amazing human left this world far too soon at the age of 52 on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 after a vigorous yearlong battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer.
Jason lived life to the fullest whether at home in northern NJ with family and friends, or at work in New York City as a Partner and Global Head of Strategy and Business Development at Marathon Asset Management (joined in 2007). Jason loved music and musical theatre, but his favorite roles in life were as a loving husband and father. Some of his favorite memories were coaching his son's little league team, watching his two daughters perform on the stage, and taking many family trips to Disney World & cruises around the world. Jason was known as a problem solver whether at work or at home. He received a B.A. from Duke University in Economics & Public Policy and helped establish Speak of the Devil, one of Duke's premier a cappella groups. He also received an MBA from Harvard Business School with a designation as a Baker Scholar. Jason grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ and graduated from Cherry Hill East. His advice to all was to live life to its fullest every day. Every hour. Every minute.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sheri (Telanoff) Friedman, three children, Lily, Rose, and Jarod Friedman, parents Barton and Vivian Friedman, sister Jennifer (Friedman) Sklarew, and countless relatives, friends, and colleagues. Jason was loved beyond words and will be missed forever. This is a profound loss for all who knew him.
The family will be receiving guests for Jason on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 12:15pm - 12:45pm followed by the funeral service starting at 1:00pm at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. A link will be provided on the Funeral home website for the service for those unable to attend and will be available for viewing after the service. Burial will take place immediately after the service at the TSTI Cemetery, with Shiva to follow back at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman directly following the burial approximately 4:00pm to 7:30pm.
An additional day of Shiva will also take place in Southern New Jersey on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 7pm at Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill, NJ. Please contact the temple directly for Shiva information. Their website address is: www.tbsonline.org
Donations can be made to Jason's favorite charity, Cycle for Survival (www.cycleforsurvival.org) which raises money for rare brain cancers.
Jason had wanted to share a song from his college a cappella group, Duke University's Speak of the Devil. https://youtu.be/jVnrPiTDtBI
