Marie Cangi

Marie Cangi (nee Pica) age 95, of Livingston, NJ, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by love on April 27, 2023. Marie was predeceased by her devoted husband Frank Cangi, her parents Lena and Joe Pica, her sisters Phyllis Bisogno, Louise Bendowski, Mollie Kitchen, and brothers Carmen Pica, and James Pica.

Marie was born and raised in Newark, NJ where she met her husband Frank and they married in 1949. They remained married for 56 years until Frank’s passing in 2005. Together they raised 2 daughters, Sandi and Nancy. She loved spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners and holidays.

After Marie raised her 2 daughters, she returned to work in the insurance industry where she retired in 1989 and enjoyed her time traveling with her husband Frank and friends, and spending time with her daughters and grandsons. Marie loved her monthly trips to the casino and her daily 4 ounces of red wine!

Marie is survived by her daughters Sandi Hoffer (Bill), Nancy Cangi, and grandsons Greg Hoffer (Susanna Fernandes) and Jake Hoffer (Morgan Lambert) and was loved by her church family at The Crossing Church, Livingston, NJ and blessed by her caregivers Jennifer and Doreen.
