Born in Newark, NJ and raised in Irvington, NJ, Marilyn lived in West Orange for many years before moving to Livingston nineteen years ago. She was a founding member of the YES program in West Orange, NJ, Past President of the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Women’s Organization, Past President of the New Jersey Region of American Jewish Congress, Past President of Temple B’nai Abraham (first woman elected), Past President of the Temple B’nai Abraham Sisterhood, past member of the Temple B’nai Abraham Social Action Committee, and Board Member at Temple B’nai Abraham, former Board Member of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Health Care Foundation, Past Vice Chair and founding member of the Sister Rose Thering Fund for Education in Jewish-Christian Studies at Seton Hall University, and a former Board Member of Newark Emergency for Families Services.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Leon Rosenbaum for 62 years, loving mother of Linda Wasserman and her husband Kenneth, and Fran Rosenbaum, grandmother of Jeffrey Wasserman and his wife Nicole, Michael Wasserman and his wife Ashley, and Jordan Wasserman and his wife Alyssa Zahakos.
