

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 56 years. His beloved 3 daughters, Wendy, Karyn (Andy) and Liza (Adam). His 7 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Tal, Jordyn, Shaney, Ian, Zackary, Penelope and Ryker. Also surviving is his brother Saul (Debbie), Paul (OBM) Tova and David Braun(OBM), His parents Rachel and Dov Mandel (OBM)
Michael was born in Tel Aviv, Israel and came to Newark, New Jersey at the age of 14. Michael graduated Weequahic High School. After Highschool, he joined the Army during the Vietnam era. Then proceeded on to technical school to become an electrical contractor. Michael flourished and became very successful, owning his own electrical contracting company, Mandel Electric for over 5 decades up to present day. He raised his family in Parsippany and was an active member of the community.
With his good soul and kind heart, Michael was very involved in Temple Beth Am and other Jewish organizations and donated his time often to Jewish causes.
He was a world traveler with his wife Barbara and loved spending time in Aruba with his family.
Michael was very involved in his grandchildren’s lives and tried to never miss a game or show. He was a kind and generous person and mentor to many. Exceptionally optimistic and a happy person, he was everyone’s best friend always had joke to make people smile and laugh. He will forever be missed. The loss of Michael will be felt by many and the sun will never shine as brightly.
