Sue was born on October 6, 1940 in New Haven, CT; the daughter of the late Mickey and Mildred Levine. After graduating from Tufts University in 1961 and marrying her husband Harold (better known as Jonesy) in that same year, Sue settled in Brooklyn, NY. Later moving to Livingston, NJ followed by a move to Sparta, NJ.
Sue was an avid reader. She frequently read several books simultaneously, spanning every genre from classics to spy novels. She enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her friends and family. Sue’s life’s focus was her family and friends, who were the center of her world. She was always there to lend support, advice, and a warm heart. Better known as Grammy for over 25 years, she celebrated every milestone big or small with each of her three uniquely gifted grandchildren.
Celebrating Sue’s life are her husband, Harold “Jonesy” Tauber; her daughters Marcie Schembre of Sparta, NJ and Stacy Meisel with her husband Kevin, who was like the son she never had, of Springfield, IL; and her brother Larry Levine with his wife Leslie of Old Bridge, NJ and their children Marc Levine and Aimee Levine-Everhard. The lights of her life were her three incredible grandchildren: Shayna, Michael, and Breea. Sue brightened many lives: the members of her beloved extended family and friends are too numerous to fit on this page.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sue’s honor to either:
