

Vilma spent most of her life taking care of and spending time with her cherished family. She was born July 25th, 1925 in Windber, PA. She moved to New York City at age 17 with her older sister Helen and her husband John. Eventually they all moved to Newark, NJ. During WWII she worked at the airport as a taper preparing the bombers for transport to Europe. In 1956 she married Anthony Joseph Carrara and moved to Bloomfield, NJ where she raised her children Anthony and Darlene. She loved going to Atlantic City, playing lottery scratch offs, word search puzzles. She was also a very good baker and known for her delicious Christmas and Easter cookies. Vilma always enjoyed spending time with all the family pets.
Vilma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony. She is survived by her loving children, Anthony Wayne Carrara (Deirdre), Darlene Nimeth (Robert), her cherished grandchildren, Heather Carrara, Anthony John Carrara (Eden), Thomas Carrara, Robert Nimeth (Kim), and Nicole Nimeth- Dunlevy (Michael). She also leaves behind her adoring great-grandson, James Philip Nimeth.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3 from 4-8 PM at the LaMonica Memorial Home, Livingston. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 4 at 10:30AM, with entombment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
