Tony was the kindest man I never [physically] met. He asked me to be the voice of `First Shift' (announcer) and helped build my confidence in pursuing voice overs. It's still some of the most rewarding work that I've ever done. I miss working with him. 

May Tony's amazing legacy inspire everyone to do better.

I had no idea Tony passed away.  He always called me "Missy". I thought about him today and was floored. I wish I had stayed closer to him. Prayers for his family.

I hadn't spoken with Tony in several years. He was one of the people I kept meaning to reconnect with, but there was always something more "urgent" that clearly needed my attention. From the first time we talked, I was impressed with how quickly he was treating me like an old friend, even though I was a complete stranger to him. It wasn't an act, either. 
You'll be missed, Tony. Thank you. 

I worked with Tony for years at WPON.  His personality and his voice were larger than life.  We shared so many laughs while I ran the board for him and I learned so many things from his show, "Your Health Alternatives".  (My primary care doctor is a doctor I learned about from being a guest on Tony's show.)  Tony was always trying to make the world a better place; to find a better way of doing things.  He wrote books, and ran for Congress all in an effort to improve people's lives.  (He told me he played a James Taylor CD over and over and over while he wrote.)  We reconnected a couple of years ago for a WPON reunion and then stayed in contact with phone calls and messages.   He shared some of his struggles and frustrations, but the last time we talked, he was positive and ready to face whatever he needed to.  We said goodbye and shared 'I love you's'.  I pray for comfort and peace for all of his family and friends.

I  will  Miss You tremendously Thanks for coming down to Tent City and Interviewing C.J. The Mayor of Tent City.  In Addition to holding the Mayor of the City of Detroit Accoutable for the The Homeless Population .  Rest Your Crown sleep Peacefully.  I still Hear Your “War Cry” .

Thank you, Tony, for all you did to make this a better world.

We are sad for the loss of such a wonderful soul.  We remember Tony as someone  who was full of vim and vigor and had a love of sharing his spirit and knowledge with others.   

Tony was an outstanding man, fighter, advocate.   When there was an injustice, Tony was there fighting back.  I was honored to be a frequent guest on his radio  show and to hear him speak on numerous occasions, including as the keynoter at our AFT Michigan convention. His incite, his dedication, his compassion will be sorely missed.   When we win in November, when we win an organizing drive, when we secure a good new contract, I will be thinking of Tony.               

Tony got me my very first job, Tony taught me how to tie a necktie, Tony was the older brother I never had. The entire family, my extended family. I saw Tony at his best and at his worst. A 40 year friendship. The family knows how I feel, but for anyone else reading this, if you knew him..you know you were blessed. We all were. 

I was a frequent guest on Tony’s radio show during the late 90’s, & we became friends. It was difficult to know Tony & not be his friend. He was a passionate, caring guy who inspired everyone around him.
When he was running for office he visited DC & I went with him to meet with Democratic  Members Of Congress, including Sen. Carl Levin. I spent time with him at national political conventions, & we talked about many things, family & politics included.
Tony was the real deal, who lived a life that mattered. He will be greatly missed by many.

Such a loss to the world.  I was shocked to hear the news.  The world has lost an awesome man.  So many memories of Tony and although it has been so long, it seems like only yesterday.  High School would not have been tolerable without this man and his awesome sense of humor.  I remember working with Tony as well and there were so many good times and laughs.  My heart breaks from the family, you are all in my thoughts these days and just know that keeping his memory alive in your hearts will help so much.  Tony was an awesome man and loved by everyone.  Again, my heart breaks for all of you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Love you all. 

A life time ago we ran our small corner of the world which was a stage at Lakeland HS. Memories, laughs and experiences that seem as vivid as yesterday. I never forgot you, Tony. 

I send my deepest condolences. I saw Tony many  times on Off The Record with Tim Skubick. Tony became the voice of the voiceless . Tony was a great voice in the labor union movement, advocating for better wages and working  conditions. I met Tony at a rally at Eastern Michigan University,where he was advocating for labor rights. Tony brought up many important issues to make our world better. Thank you Tony for all your advocacy.
