Beloved husband of Judy Catlin for 54 wonderful years. Loving father of Brian (Laura) Catlin and Bonnie (Mark) Van Etten. Cherished grandfather of Zach (Shelby) Catlin, Gabby Catlin, Fischer (Noelle) Catlin, Mackenzie Catlin and Adaline Van Etten. Soon-to-be great grandfather of Fischer and Noelle’s son due in August 2023. Dear brother–in-law to Susan Knapp and uncle of her children, Heidi Knapp and Jason (Aubrey) Knapp. Art was loved by many extended family and dear close friends.
Art was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy where he served from 1965-1972. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He worked for Inland Container Corporation (now International Paper) as a packaging engineer and retired in 2004. Art was always very strong in his faith and spent many years serving in volunteer capacities at Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN. After his retirement, he and Judy traveled full-time in their RV doing missionary work all over the United States. They worked with the Christian organizations of Mennonite Disaster Service, SOWERs and Young Life and would go above and beyond to help those in need and those affected by natural disasters. Art also enjoyed spending time with family. He was involved in all of his children’s sports when they were growing up and was very involved in his grandchildren’s lives. He was the one who was always there to help anyone in need, he was “Mr.Fix It” and a great handyman. Art will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
