Carl Senczyszyn

Carl Senczyszyn, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on April 2, 1936, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, Carl was the beloved son of Michael and Catherine Senczyszyn.

Carl's life was marked by his unyielding dedication to his family and his unwavering spirit of service. He shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marcella "Marcey" Senczyszyn. Together, they raised six loving children: Mark (Julie), Gary, Judy, Rick (Tina), Glen (Amy), and Todd (Nicole). Carl's legacy continues through his 13 cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy.

A lifelong athlete, Carl was deeply passionate about sports. From his early days playing baseball and basketball to coaching and continuing to play well into his 80s, his love for physical activity was a testament to his vibrant and enduring spirit. Carl also dedicated many years to working as a Pipefitter at General Motors, where his commitment and skill were highly valued.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Carl proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1965. His service is a reminder of his deep sense of duty and patriotism.

Carl's love for his family extended beyond everyday moments to special times spent at their family cottage on Lake Erie. Summers filled with water skiing, fishing, and cherished memories were among his greatest joys. As a longtime parishioner of St. Colette Catholic Church in Livonia, Carl found spiritual fulfillment and community in his faith.

Carl is also remembered as the dearest brother of Rudy Senczyszyn and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 2-8pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152, with a Rosary service at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:30am (in-state at 10am) at St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, MI 48152.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

Carl Senczyszyn's life was a beautiful example of love, dedication, and joy. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
