

Born on March 8, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Carol was the daughter of the late Archie and Viola (Richards) Welch. She grew up in a loving home alongside her siblings and carried those values of warmth and compassion throughout her life.
Carol’s life was filled with love, joy, and unwavering dedication to her family. On April 23, 1992, she married Mike Nagy. Their love story began with a chance meeting that blossomed into a deep and enduring bond.
She was a devoted mother to Yvonne (Phillip) Kessler, Brent (Carla) Widlak, and Jackie (Troy) Folden. Her love extended to her cherished grandchildren - Garrek, Cassandra, Jared (Tamra), Zachary, Cody (Kelly), Christopher, Joshua, and Carissa —and her great-grandson, Beckham, who brought her endless joy.
Carol is also survived by her siblings Janet, Marilyn (John), Archie, and Henry (Kristen). She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Renee and brother-in-law Bruce.
Professionally, Carol dedicated many years as a surgical coordinator in an ophthalmology office, where she was known for her attention to detail, compassion for patients, and commitment to her work.
In Carol's youth she had a passion for dance and enjoyed her time in The Detroit Ballet Company highlighting her athleticism and gracefulness. Followed by many years of playing darts while organizing countless leagues and tournaments. At home she was an avid reader and loved the challenge of crosswords, sudoku, and puzzles. Her creativity shone through in her crafting, and she was always working on something beautiful with her hands.
Carol's strength, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she impacted and the love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025. An inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
