As Dale's daughter, I wish I had the strength to have gotten up to say all the words I have in my heart for my dad. My dad was a man of his word...the kind of man that a handshake was all you needed to know that he would stand by anything he had promised.  You knew the minute you met him that was who he was. He has watched over us all, given his love, and made us who we are today.  My sons all have had the most awesome, loyal Grandpa to model their adult lives after. He enjoyed his grandkids as little ones, and has always been a source of entertainment for them all.  As they got older, they have approached him for advice on many different things. He loved to hear about their cars, jobs, hunting stories, and any thing else they wanted to share. Just as they loved to hear of all his stories growing up. He rose to the occasion when our youngest son was born later in his life. He still did all the silly things with him as he did the others, maybe even more.  He and my mom have always made us the center of their lives.   Even when his health was failing, he made it out for holidays, birthdays, and any other reason for a party! Needless to say, my dad was a man that everyone loved to be around.  My mom was the only one who really got to see him "a little grumpy."  He knew after 65 years, she would put up with anything. :)     
So with all of the nice things that people have said to me about my dad, I had to say something myself.  As the only girl, and baby, I know I was a little spoiled. I am for sure, a little biased, but my dad never, ever let me down.  He will be missed, beyond any human comprehension, by myself, my family, my friends, and by anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him.  Even in the end he didn't rest until he knew we would all be ok.  My dear dad, rest in peace until we meet again.  I love you!

Dale will be missed dearly, he was a great man and left behind a legacy of love, family, and friends. It is obvious when you look at his extended family the impact he had on so many. May God keep you on his side until we can meet again.

I enjoyed the chats we had outdoors in the last couple of years. It was obvious that Dale was a true gentleman and will be missed but the memories he left his wife and family will be a source of not sorrow but joy to have had him with you for so many years.

What a wonderful man he was. And what a wonderful family he raised. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dale was such a special person and Dennis and I loved him so much.  We enjoyed many years of being neighbors, being in a bowling league with Dale and Jean and meeting with them for dinners after we moved from the neighborhood.  We will keep you and your family in our prayers, Jean.  Love, Dennis and Karel.
