Daniel William Gartner

Daniel Gartner of Livonia, MI passed away peacefully on May 25, 2014. Beloved husband of Lois (nee Petrowsky), father of Linda (Chris) Klein, Beverly Marincic, Ken Gartner, Hope (John) Hunter, William (Deborah) Gartner, grandfather of Justin, Kristen, Nathan, Joel, Michaela, Crystal, Haley, Andrea, Zachary, Shawn, Daniel and Zoe, and brother of Jean Kraft and Rev. Allen (Marilyn) Gartner. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents William and Elizabeth Gartner, son in law Scott Marincic, and daughter in law Carrie Gartner.

Daniel was a proud WW II Veteran. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946. He was issued a World War II Victory Medal.

Daniel graduated from Eastern Michigan University with his Master’s Degree. He was a teacher at Romulus Junior High School. He also worked for the IRS as a tax auditor.

Daniel was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling and canning fruits and vegetables. Most of all,

Daniel loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation will take place at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Rd. Livonia, MI on Wed. May 28 from 3-8. The funeral service will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 17810 Farmington Rd. Livonia, MI on Thur. May 29 from 11 am with an instate time of 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
