 Obituario de Delphine "Dolly" Kerutis
In loving memory of Delphine “Dolly” Joan Kerutis, nee Gawenda, born September 23, 1934, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2022, at her lifelong home in Detroit, MI at the age of 88. Dolly was a devout Catholic, devoted and loving wife of Donald Kerutis. Dolly is survived by her ardent husband of 68 years, Donald Kerutis, their children; Mark Kerutis, Brian (Sherry) Kerutis, Jacquelyn (John) Kuhn, Dean (Jyll) Kerutis, Susan (Mike) Bysiorek, Denise Swann, Donna Spehar, 13 grand kids, 15 great grandkids and her siblings; Thomas Gawenda and Christine Thompson. She is preceded in death by her son, Keith (Brenda) Kerutis, and her grandson John Eric Kuhn. Dolly graduated from St. Andrews high school with honors. Shortly after she met Donald Kerutis, the Don and Dolly family adventure began. After the eight children were older, she enjoyed a 20 plus year career in the banking industry as an assistant branch manager, blazing a trail for the family girls and their girls. Dolly was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was the matriarch of the family. There was no limit to Dolly’s generosity, love, and care. Her priority was always her family and staying connected with those that mattered most to her. There wasn’t a day that went by where she wasn’t on the phone sharing stories, laughing, and sharing life with the loved one on the other end of the line. She never missed sending a card on holidays, special events or birthdays. She enjoyed travelling, playing cards - really, winning Uno and 3-13, going to the casino, getting together with the local red hat ladies, and was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan. She enjoyed mystery novels, all types of movies and a good Hallmark tv movie, especially at Christmas. Dolly spent her days beside her beloved husband enjoying his great cooking. Her cherished husband always ensured she never had to pump her own gas and always had a full tank to make sure she was always ready for her next adventure. And in the words of mom/ grandma, “Like that, that’s it... nothing else.” A visitation for Dolly will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A rosary will occur Friday, September 30, 2022 at 7:00 PM.
