Denise Elizabeth Bostic, affectionately known as Denny, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, in Livonia, Michigan. She was born on June 25, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to Earl B. Bostic and Irene M. Bostic, both of whom preceded her in death.
Denny was a dedicated educator, spending 40 years as a special education teacher within the Macomb Intermediate School District. During her time here, she touched the lives of countless students and their families. Her passion for teaching began with her own quest for knowledge, having earned her degree in special education from Western Michigan University and a master's degree from Wayne State University.
Beyond her professional achievements, Denny cherished her time with family and friends. She had a green thumb and found joy in gardening in her yard. She was also a talented crafter, lovingly knitting afghans and crocheting hats and scarves for her loved ones, creating lasting memories with each stitch.
Denny is survived by her son, Adam I. Bostic, and daughter-in-law, Jessie A. Tong; her daughter, R. Koryan Bostic; and her cherished granddaughter, Elizabeth I. Bostic, along with her partner, Marc Rogers. She took great pride in her great-grandsons, Caleb W. Jacobs and Riley B. Jacobs, and her great-grandson, Lance Rogers. Denny is also survived by her sister, Margaret A. Kutek; niece, Amanda K. Kutek; and nephew, Michael R. Kutek, and his wife, Jackie Kutek, as well as her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Mason Kutek, and Madison Kutek. She was preceded in death by her brother, James E. Bostic, who held a very special place in Denny’s heart.
Denny's warmth, creativity, and dedication to her students and family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
