

Donald Curry Campion III, age 77, of Commerce Township, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. Don was born on September 16, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Donald Campion Jr. and Alma Jean Campion-Fried.
Loving husband of Pam for 55 years. Beloved father of Jeremy (Sofia) and Jeff (Jamie). Proud grandpa of Hasan, Umar, and Asiya. Cherished brother of Doug (Val), late Daryl (Sue), Dale (Nancy), and Jan. Dear uncle of Sarah (Michael), Eric (Kristyn), Chelsea (Lorenzo), Jon, Ryan, Clay (Chelsea), Elizabeth (Usama), Laura (Connor), Tyler, Brian, and Sarah (Jamie). Brother-in-law of Bob (Jean). He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Don was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Applied Math and Engineering Mechanics ahead of earning his MBA in Finance. Shortly after graduation, he began his career with General Motors, where he worked for 26 years. He served a multitude of executive roles throughout his tenure, including Vice President of GM Japan, where he and his family lived for three and a half years. He has since gone on to hold various board positions for companies such as Haynes International and MasterCraft. Don was also a proud member of Financial Executives International (FEI) Detroit.
Outside of his work life, Don was a gifted musician. He was a member of different bands throughout his life, best known for his saxophone solos. He also enjoyed boating, traveling, and watching U of M football.
Don will be remembered as the leader and provider for his family. His story exemplifies that hard work leaves a lasting legacy, regardless of your beginnings. He will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 26, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. Friends and family will continue to gather at the funeral home Saturday, September 27, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. A livestream of the service will be available. Donald will be laid to rest at Parkview Memorial Cemetery.
