Douglas married Linda Lou Reeves on June 28th, 1969. He served in the military as a United States Marine. He worked as a Detroit City Police Officer for 25 years. Douglas and Linda made jewelry and enjoyed traveling the state together selling their works of art at various craft shows and festivals. He also enjoyed woodworking and projects of any kind. He was handy and was always willing to get his hands dirty to help. Douglas adored his grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, watching them at various sports, school, and church events...and he always seemed to find a way to celebrate any event with some ice cream. Douglas was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed studying the Bible and learning about God’s Word. He attended Harvest Bible Church and will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Linda White; son Bill (Kelly) White; and daughter Tina (Tobin) Jones; sister Marsha Heads, brother Robert White, brother Dave White and brother Jack White. Grandchildren Tyler (Kandace) White, Eryn White, Victoria Pereyra, Lindsay White, and Lucas Pereyra. Douglas was preceded in death by; father Marion White and mother Wanda White; brother Gary White.
A visitation for Douglas will be held Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A funeral in state will occur Monday, December 31, 2018 at 8:30 AM with a funeral service at 9:00 AM, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A burial will occur at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, 34205 5 Mile Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48154.
