

Duane George Maycock passed away on June 14, 2015 at the age of 81. Duane was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 12, 1933 to Sherman and Ernestine Maycock. Duane married the love of his life, Bernadine, on November 23, 1957 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church. They were happily married for 57 years.
Mr. Maycock, as he was known by his many students, taught science at Melvindale Northern Allen Park Public Schools from 1957 to 1991. He was also the principal of Richard D. Evans Elementary School and J. O. Strong Junior High School for the Melvindale Northern Allen Park Public Schools. Duane was very dedicated to the Melvindale Northern Allen Park Public Schools as a member of their negotiation team and also established the driver’s education program. Duane was an Usher and Deacon for St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the American Federation of Teachers.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Ernestine Maycock, his mother-in-law Virginia Budery and father-in-law Richard Budgery.
He is survived by his loving wife Bernadine. His beloved children Kevin (Laurie) Maycock, Mark (Jill) Maycock, and Anne (Louis) Molnar. His cheriched grandchildren Courtney Maycock, Samantha Maycock, Kristen Maycock, Spencer Maycock, and Katherine Molnar. His devoted sisters Jane (David) Roberts and Sharon (Leo) Daviddi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road in Livonia. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 11:00am at the funeral home.
