Ederina Inez Utecht

Ederina was born on January 29, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, to Ciro and Acidalia (Scagnutto) DiBiaggio. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Aidan Catholic Church and a proud member of the Italian American Club.

An avid reader, Ederina especially enjoyed completing The New York Times Sunday crossword puzzles. She treasured time spent at the family’s Cape Shores home on Lake Huron, where many happy memories were made. Above all, Ederina loved her family deeply and was a devoted mother and a wonderful grandmother.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Dr. Steve (Patricia) Utecht and Dr. Michael (Constance) Utecht, and her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Jacob, and Alina.

Ederina was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 63 years, Dr. Aloise Utecht; and her brother, John DiBiaggio.

Her kindness, devotion to family, and quiet joys will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral In State will be held at St Aidan's Church, located at 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, on February 13, 2026, from 9:00 am to 9:30 am.

Following the Funeral In State, a Funeral Mass will take place at St Aidan's Church, located at 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, from 9:30 am to 10:30 pm on the same day.
