Beloved wife of the late Albin C. Stankus. Loving mother of Cindy (Tom) Nadeau, and Beth (Jeffrey) Stankus-Vellequette.
Emily was a longtime Early Elementary school teacher for Livonia Public Schools until retiring in 1989. She enjoyed staying in touch with her close group of teachers who met at Jackson Elementary School, even after the school closed, they all remained friends until this day. Emily was very involved within the Livonia community; she was very active with Livonia Town Hall, MARSP (Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel), teaching Sorority ADK and so much more.
Emily was so proud of her daughters for graduating from Michigan State University; she became a big MSU fan and “adopted” the colors Green and White. She enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the United State but her favorite place to vacation to was her condo in Traverse City where she had a beautiful flower garden which she kept a close eye on. Emily was also very creative , she loved quilting and crafting, doing crossword puzzles and crosswords. She took great pride in taking care of her home, making sure her house was always clean, neat and tidy, decorating for every holiday and having her yard look beautiful all year round.
Emily will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
