Following high school, Frank served his country with the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS Leyte from 1946-1948. Following his honorable service to his country, he returned home and on June 16, 1951 he married the love of his life at the Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Parish in Detroit.
A pioneer in the Television and Radio field, Frank attended Radio Electronics Television School in Detroit and was one of the first in the area to install antennas for televisions. He later went on to work with Burroughs Corporation, General Electric and Eaton Corporation prior to his retirement to spend time with his family.
Family was truly what Frank lived for. He took pride in caring for his family. A jack of all trades, he was always helping to fix things around the house. A loving husband and father, he always tried to take an active role in his children's life, whether it was teaching them the drums at an early age, helping with sports, school work or any challenges they faced in life, he was always there for his sons. As his family grew and they welcomed their grandchildren and later great-grandchildren, Frank always strived to let them know how much they were loved and cared for.
Frank was the loving husband of Georgene “Marge” for over 66 years. Beloved father of Gary (Cathy), the late Gregg, Chris (Mary Anne) and Kevin (Rochelle). Proud grandfather of Michelle, Danielle, Kelly, the late Timothy, Stacey, Steven, Lindsay, Kayla and Karissa and great-grandfather of 11. Also survived by brother Norbert.
The Fricke family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday July 20, 2017 from 4-8 pm and Friday July 21, 2017 from 2-8 pm, with a Vigil Service at 7 pm, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
