Grace Porter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted woman of faith, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on October 29, 1939, to Aller and Earleen (Anderson) McCain, Grace lived a life rooted in love, service, and joyful dedication to those around her.
On November 17, 1962, Grace married the love of her life, Bill Porter. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their faith and family. They were blessed with two children, and Grace poured her heart into her role as a mother and grandmother.
For over 60 years, Grace was a cherished member of Ward Church in Northville, where her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She attended services and Bible studies faithfully and played an active role in the church community. Whether leading Vacation Bible School or volunteering wherever she was needed, Grace’s servant heart touched many lives.
Grace was known for her warmth, sense of fun, and generosity. She loved getting together with friends for lunch, going shopping, and baking sweet treats — her chocolate chip and sugar cookies were especially loved. The holidays held a special place in her heart, and she brought joy to many by dressing in festive costumes for Halloween every year.
Above all, Grace adored her family. She never missed a chance to cheer on her grandchildren at their sports events and celebrated every achievement with pride and love.
Grace leaves behind her devoted husband of 62 years, Bill Porter; her children, Brian (Danielle) Porter and Jennifer (Rod) Radloff; her five grandchildren, Jessica (Jake), Hannah (Jeffery), Sarah (Andrew), Nolan, and Paige; and two great-grandchildren, Amelia and Henry. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn (Carl). She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jim.
Grace’s legacy of faith, kindness, and love will live on in all who knew her. Memorial contributions in Grace’s honor may be made to Ward Church in Northville.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
