

Everett Hartzell Kaisner, 98, went to be with his Lord on January 12, 2022. He was born on November 26, 1923 to Joseph and Ida Kaisner. He married Mary Elizabeth Ehnle on Aug 9, 1964. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Hartzell is survived by his six children, Kenneth (Bobbi) Kaisner of Farmington Hills, MI, Joanne (Ked) Gerber of Bluffton, IN, Karen deReyna of Grosse Pointe, MI, Diane (Mike) Murphy of Canton, MI, Jane (Dan) Kaiser of Midland, MI and Curtis (Meredith) Kaisner of Northville, MI; sixteen grandchildren, Ava Kaisner, Luke Kaisner, Taylor (Klayton) Kershner, Cordin (Logan) Koch, Aubrey (Demeke) Dessie, Kyler Gerber, Jenasia Gerber, Will deReyna, Maggie deReyna, Mike (Justine) Murphy, Tiffany Murphy, Andrew Kaiser, Joshua Kaiser, Caleb Kaiser, Allison Kaisner and Madeline Kaisner; two great grandchildren, Laurel Kershner and August Murphy; five siblings, Leon (Eunice) Kaisner, Helen Follmer, Janet (Roger) Farney, Larry (Cynthia) Kaisner and Lou Ida (Richard) Steffen; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter, Zoey Ann Kaisner.
Hartzell surrendered his life to Christ at the age of 16. He served God faithfully for 82 years as a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. As a lay minister, Hartzell enthusiastically preached the Good News of Salvation and counseled many who needed a listening ear. He served passionately on the church’s national World Relief Committee; bringing hope and healing to Haiti and Jamaica as well as local ministries. His greatest desire in life was to please God and spend eternity in heaven.
Hartzell worked in the construction industry for his entire career and retired at the age of 71. ln his spare time, he built the family home in Northville. He loved hosta gardening, woodworking, and bird feeding and watching.
Hartzell loved well and was well loved. He is especially known for the prayer miles he walked on his treadmill. If you ever met him, you can believe that he prayed for you! He lived his life with joy, perseverance and unbelievable dedication! If he needed “energy”, he would smile and grab a handful of peanut M&Ms. He was an avid story teller with his favorite story centering around climbing the water tower! He worked hard for the Lord, his family and others and will be greatly missed!
Visitation is Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 4pm -8pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home (Masks are required). The Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11am (in state at 10am) at Apostolic Christian Church, Livonia (Masks are required).
