Jann/Janet Kay Yarling has passed. 6-2-52 to 3-3-23 (12:54PM) at age 70. She had a long fight for over 2 years battling MDS cancer. The last 5 weeks she spent at home with hospice care surrounded by her 2 cats, her husband, daughter, Lexy's cat and so so so many friends and family who got to spend time with her. She was kept so comfortable and enjoyed many of her favorite foods and drink.
Janet was known to be a vibrant, opinionated, strong will and strong hearted person. The Yarling stubborn too. She studied Law and was an Attorney for many years. Her devotion and walk with God was so strong. She was part of the Bible Babes, who studied the Word weekly, Girl Scouts as troop leader, and also PEO chapter DZ. She was very well known for her love of ice cream! She enjoyed gardening, quilting, interior design/decorating, reading hundreds of books, her love for horses and owning Z, her love of pets (and always had one in the home), the pool, and of course being a MSU Spartan.
She was married to her husband Melvin for 36 years. They lived a life walking together with God, met each other at church, went on many trips across the US and across the world, cruises, and enjoyed many events of music, festivals, food and camping. She was the decorator and then my dad would build her ideas! Their devotion to each other was amazing, especially during her battle with cancer.
Janet taught others so many things. How to be an independent woman, the love of horses and animals, the love of camping, the love for reading, the joy from learning of cultures around the world, passing along the ways of etiquette (cuz Dibby, her mother, was the Queen), and so much more. She was one of the drivers all 4 years for the swim team trips before the season started. She and Lexy tackled hooking up the horse trailers and me going to horse shows across the many years. Her daughter would call her up and she would just listen as she talked away and updated her on anything and everything, not needing to say much in return. She helped her immensely find, upgrade, decorate and get her condo to the way it is today. And also the immense help getting Lexy's dream truck. She was known for spoiling her with many gifts. Half of her camping and cooking gear she owes to her. The amazing knives she gave her for Christmas all have a beautiful green color to the handles.
She knew and felt all the love and prayers, not just in the last 5 weeks, but across her 70 years of life. She is in Heaven with our Lord and I bet she’s dancing a jig with everyone up there.
