Janice Ruth Gaffney

Beloved wife of the late Lawrence William Gaffney. Loving mother of Kathleen (Michael) Urbats, Marcia (Khatchig) Hamamdjian, Pamela (Michael) Pavlichek, and Nanette (Lawrence Walley) Gaffney. Cherished grandmother of Kevin (Michelle) Urbats, Jeffrey (Stephanie Pattison) Urbats, Megan (Anthony) Kann, Emily Hamamdjian, Christopher Hamamdjian, Brian (Renee) Laskowski, Autumn Pavlichek, Anastasia “Storm” (Joseph Adams), Raine (Tim Bothwell) Pavlichek, Elaine Gaffney, and Kyle Gaffney. Dear great grandmother of McKenna, Avery, Olivia, Nora, Quinn, Aiden, Jaxon, Paisley, Harper, Liam and Lila and great-great grandmother of Emmaline and Wyatt. Dearest sister of Gerald (Marilyn) Krause and the late Roger (Rae) Krause.

Jan retired from Detroit & Northern Savings Bank in Farmington, Michigan.

Jan was an active member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Brighton, Michigan. She enjoyed volunteering at church events and attending the church groups there. She loved to travel and went on many trips all over the United States. She traveled to Alaska and Hawaii and the list goes on. Her favorite time was spent with her family and friends. She was always the one who called to check in on you and kept her family together. Jan also participated in several bowling leagues, enjoyed swimming, and playing Pinochle with friends. She was always one to keep busy. Jan will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service and luncheon for Janice will be held at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church on Friday, February 2nd at 11:00 am. The church is located at 2101 South Hacker Road Brighton, MI 48114.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
